Thanks to Sgt Trevor Clark, who is also a member of the NPG, for sharing these photographs with the Association.

The Nimrod Preservation Group (NPG) was formed to preserve Nimrod XV232 at its current home of Baginton Airport, Coventry.

XV232 is a Maritime Reconnaissance (MR2) type which holds the record for the longest endurance flight ever undertaken by a Nimrod – this being 19 hours and 15 minutes.  The aircraft was delivered directly to the airport from RAF Kinloss in May 2010, but was not in a good shape when the NPG took over in 2015.  Since then ‘232 has been restored and kept maintained in ground-running condition, with all four engines being put through their paces every month (circumstances permitting).

Guided tours are given for the public and on-board seats are sold for the engine runs.  In future it is hoped that ‘232 will be able to perform fast taxi-runs on the airport’s main runway.
